Marketing has changed greatly due to the advancement in technology. Communication professionals can no longer use just traditional communication methods. They need to have the knowledge and skills to navigate both methods, currently, 76% of advanced economies and 45% of emerging economies own a smartphone, in addition to this 67% of advanced economies use social media, and even 49% of emerging use social media (B, 2020). Marketing has never been more competitive and there are now many ways to reach the target audience using technology such as smartphones and social media. 
With these changes in new technology marketing communication professionals need to use these more effective methods to promote the business’s brand. Some examples of new communication tools are email, Google ads, paid advertising on Facebook and YouTube, banner ads, and app ads. Shifts in advertising and technology have made it needed for companies to optimize their messaging strategies.
